APPOINTMENTS

ARCHDIOCESE OF OTTAWA

The Most Reverend Marcel Gervais, Archbishop of Ottawa is pleased to announce the following pastoral appointments, effective September 5, 2005, for the English Sector and September 1st, 2005, for the French Sector.


FOR THE ENGLISH SECTOR

  • Rev. Michael BROWNING, currently Pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish, is appointed Pastor of St. Monica Parish in Ottawa for a six year term.
  • Rev. Titus EGBUEH, currently Administrator of St. Monica Parish, on loan to the Archdiocese from the Archdiocese of Onitsha, Nigeria, will return to full time studies. The Archbishop would like to thank Rev. Egbueh for his work at the Parish.
  • Rev. Lawrence McCORMICK, currently Pastor of St. Philip’s Parish in Richmond and St. Clare’s Parish in Dwyer Hill, has asked to become an Associate Pastor for health reasons, and is granted an appointment as Associate Rector of St. Patrick’s Basilica in Ottawa instead of his previously announced appointment to Our Lady of Fatima Parish.
  • Rev. Paul NWAEZE, currently Associate Pastor of St. Patrick’s Fallowfield Parish is appointed Associate Pastor of Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Ottawa.
  • Rev. Don TUORI currently Pastor of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, is appointed Pastor of St. Elizabeth Parish in Ottawa for a six year term.
  • Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish in Ottawa closes on September 4, 2005, and the building will become the Cathedral for the Orthodox Church of Canada.

FOR THE FRENCH SECTOR

  • Rev. Pascal NIZIGIYIMANA, c.b.y., currently Pastor of St. Bonaventure Parish, is appointed Pastor of Marie Médiatrice and Saint-Charles Parishes of Vanier, for a six year term.
  • Rev Jacques POIRIER, currently Pastor of Marie Médiatrice and Saint-Charles Parish of Vanier, is granted a sabbatical year.
  • The Capuchins Friars of St. François d’Assise Parish in Ottawa will assume responsibility for St. Bonaventure Parish in Ottawa from September 1st, 2005.
